Helping Others

We are Montessori Center of Our Lady, where together we are always better!

As we look closely at our Core Values for Ministry (Respect for human Dignity, Compassion, Transformation, Solidarity with the Poor and Justice & Peace) and consider the words of our foundress, Blessed Mary Angela, “serve where you are needed”, we are reminded as a Felician-Sponsored Ministry of our call to reach out to those less fortunate. It is also part of who we are as Montessorians. Dr. Maria Montessori had immense compassion for the marginalized children of society. Not just the financially poor, but those poor physically, emotionally, intellectually and spiritually. She believed all children should be treated with respect and dignity. In the words of Maria Montessori, “…we know so much about the delicacy and worth of each human being – each ‘miraculous being.’” It is our devotion to and belief in the Montessori Method that encourages us to be kind, generous and helpful to others.

Montessori Center of Our Lady is committed to helping those in need by partnering with such groups as, Livonia Goodfellow’s Annual No Child Without a Christmas food and toy drive, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Cystic Fibrosis, St. Christine’s Outreach, Capuchin Soup Kitchen, Deo Gratis Ministry and St. Felix Food Pantry just to name a few. As we continue this very important work of giving, we hope you will join us as you are able.
